Credit Hour Information

Generally, we sponsor accredited events which not only offer excellent educational material, but also provide for continuing education (CE) hours, through New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) for Florida licensed practitioners. From time to time we may promote other accredited events as well and/or request hours from other state boards. For only those events that we sponsor, we will do our best to update this page after so that you will have a resource for your CE credits. Although we typically offer hours for acupuncture (LAc or AP), chiropractic (DC), certified chiropractic assistants (CCPA) and the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (ACBN) we are always looking for new healthcare organizations to support, contact us to explore getting CEs for your discipline.

General CE hour Processing

  1. Standard Process of Central Florida will submit an application request for CE hours to NYCC (no less than 60 days prior to the event date)
  2. NYCC will review the course (including course material summary and speaker credentials) and determine if the course meets their guidelines
  3. Once approved internally, NYCC will submit the necessary paperwork to each state board requested, which is typically only the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine and the Florida Board of Acupuncture. Note: We do not request hours from- or provide hours for- the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
  4. On the day of the event, Standard Process of Central Florida will require a CE form to be completed by each attendee as well as a signature upon arrival and departure from the event. Without these two things, CE hours will not be granted to the attendee under any circumstances. Note: New procedures in Florida require that chiropractors sign in and sign out, each and every time they leave the event room, regardless of length and/or reason.
  5. Standard Process of Central Florida will submit to NYCC on the Monday following the event, an event roster showing all attendees, CE forms for all attendees and completed sign-in/sing-out forms.
  6. NYCC, within 30 days of receiving the aforementioned materials from Standard Process Central Florida, will being the processing of each attendees course hours, which includes a certificate of completion emailed to you from NYCC and posting of hours to CEBroker.

Credit FAQ’s

Here are the most commonly asked questions we receive for our accredited events.

NYCC Disclaimer?

“Continuing education credit (CE) is administered by New York Chiropractic College (NYCC)”

License Renewal: While applications relating to credit hours for license renewal in selected states have been executed for these programs, it remains attendees’ responsibility to contact the state board(s) from whom they seek continuing education credits for purposes of ensuring said board(s) approve both venue and content as they relate to any seminar/course/lecture/webinar /online presentation (event). Neither a speaker’s or exhibitor’s presence at said event, nor product mention or display, shall in any way constitute NYCC endorsement. NYCC’s role is strictly limited to processing, submitting, and archiving program documents on behalf of course sponsors.

Need Transcripts or CE hours not showing in CEBroker?

Certificates of Completion, or “transcripts” are provided at no charge. NYCC complies with all State Boards that require notification be sent directly from the college. The transcript reflects the credits earned by your attendance. The transcript is signed by The Dean of Postgraduate Department. Transcripts can be resent to you by NYCC by calling the Post-Grad department (800) 434-3955 or using the online form: https://www.nyccpostgrad.com/pages/transcript.

Only NYCC has access to posting hours to CEBroker, not Standard Process of Central Florida. If you are not seeing your hours in CEBroker, please contact us first to make sure that we didn’t submit roster information with any data errors. If this is not the case, it is best to contact NYCC directly by calling the Post-Grad department (800) 434-3955.

Note: Be consistent with your email and name (do not use nicknames) that you use to register for our events. Ideally, use the same email address that you use for CEBroker, NYCC, etc. as this is the email that you will receive your certificate of completion (be wary of these emails going to spam). If you change your email or are being inconsistent with it, your hours may not reflect your attended events.

How are acupuncture hours posted?

First, acupuncture hours are posted to the Florida Board of Acupuncture. We do not request hours from- or provide hours for- the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). CE hours received at one of our sponsors events through NYCC are applied toward your bio-medical requirements first, before they are applied to general hours. For example, if you have 8 bio-medical hours and 8 general hours remaining for your license renewal, and you attend a 12 CE hour event, 8 hours will be applied toward your open bio-medical requirements and 4 hours will be applied toward your open general requirements.

I am not a DC, CCPA, AP or LAc, can I still get hours??

Well, in most cases, no. However, it is possible to get hours for disciplines for which we did not request through NYCC. It will require additional work on your end.

We don’t know of an exact process, but we do know that it requires you to petition your board. This should be done prior to registering for the event so as not to make a financial commitment for the event without receiving approval. We can provide you with a copy of the speakers CV and an hour-by-hour summary of the event. Generally this documentation is all that we can provide as it is all that we provide to NYCC for the disciplines we request. Take into consideration that most boards have a time element involved as well whereby you’d have to make request for hours prior to a specific cutoff time. This may or may not be the case when you petition but it is worth noting (ex. for AP and DC hours in Florida, the Florida boards require that courses be approved  greater than 60 day before the event date).

If your board requires something different and/or has questions, we will do our best to facilitate additional materials and/or answers in order to assist you with your petition.

I am not a Florida licensed practitioner, can I still get hours?

Although we only guarantee CE hours for states which we formally request from NYCC, CE hours may be available in other states. We cannot guarantee other states CE approvals and, therefore, it is your responsibility as a practitioner to contact your specific board prior to registering to verify that hours for this course will be accepted.

However, it is possible to get hours for other states which we did not request through NYCC but will require additional work on your end. Some state boards do not require a formal request from NYCC as they accept NYCC approvals as their own. These states are as follows as applied to chiropractors (DC) only: CO, CT, DE, DC, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, MD, MI, MS, MT, NE, ND, OR, RI, SC, UT, VT, VA, WA and WY. Please note that the states listed here may change at any time and without notice, and this website may not be updated accordingly. So again, we cannot guarantee other states CE approvals and, therefore, it is your responsibility as a practitioner to contact your specific board prior to registering to verify that hours for this course will be accepted.
